When dyeing natural fibres at home there's always a risk of slightly felting the wool through the warm water used and any movement in the dye-bath. "Superwash" fibres have gone through a special process to prevent felting and make them machine washable, so not only is it great for dyeing but it also means any garments you then make are protected against felting in the future.
