Sheila Smith's fascination with the art of feltmaking started in the early 1980s and has grown steadily ever since. She is particularly interested in the different effects within the felt by employing a variety of techniques.
She trained as a teacher of textiles and has taught may aspects of this subject to students of all ages in schools and collages.
This book is the first in a series dealing with the techniques of feltmaking. It is intended to provide the information necessary for the first steps in feltmaking but also give an insight into the process to enable decisions to be made as to the type of felt suitable for the chosen purpose.
