Teeswater Grey is a rare and luxurious British longwool top, prized for its soft grey hue, gleaming locks, and generous length. A heritage breed from Teesdale, Teeswater wool is celebrated for its combination of sheen, body, and drape—ideal for crafters seeking elegance with natural charm.

Features

Fibre Diameter: 32–34 microns (medium wool range) — sturdy yet surprisingly soft
Staple Length: Typically 12–25 cm (5–10 in)
Texture: Silky with a hint of slipperiness, offering fluid drafting and beautiful drape
Colour: Soft pewter grey — a natural, even tone with lustrous shine

Ideal For: Spinning lustrous worsted yarns, weaving elegant fabrics, fine felting, art yarns, locks in sculpture or millinery.

Teeswater Grey spins into glossy, flowing yarns with excellent stitch definition—yet it resists felting, making it perfect for luxurious drape. Combine visual depth with structural strength in shawls, scarves, garments, or art yarn blends.

Fantastic Teeswater Grey GT

I am pleased i bought this fleece. It is very strong and has a lovely softness to it. I particularly like the slight variation in shade when spun.
