Natural Dye - Rosehip

Rosehip dye is a gentle, plant-based dye material made from the dried fruit of the wild rose (Rosa canina). They produce soft pink through to warm orange hues on natural fibres, capturing the delicate warmth of autumn sunsets. The colours achieved tend to be light, romantic and earthy, making rosehip an excellent choice for subtle, botanical palettes.

When used in a dye bath, the granules slowly release their natural pigments, creating muted pastels, coral-tinted neutrals and softly layered tones. Rosehip can also be combined with other plant dyes to add warmth and complexity to a colour palette.

In addition to its dyeing properties, rosehip is naturally rich in tannins. This means it can help improve colourfastness and assist dyes in bonding to fibres, particularly when working with plant fibres such as cotton or linen.
