Crown felting needles feature barbs positioned close to the tip of the needle, allowing you to felt surface fibres with greater precision while disturbing the underlying layers as little as possible. This makes them ideal for fine detailing, attaching small pieces and refining the finish of needle felted projects.
Because the barbs only engage near the point, crown needles offer excellent control when working on delicate areas, making them a favourite for adding facial features, surface decoration and finishing touches.

36 Gauge – General Surface Work
A slightly coarser crown needle for attaching locks, hair, yarn and surface embellishments. Its shallow barbs catch the fibres close to the surface without drawing them deeply into the work. Suitable for creating textured finishes and securely rooting fibres into a firm felted base.
38 Gauge – Fine Surface Work
A finer crown needle for delicate surface work, detailed embellishment and finer fibres. It provides controlled, shallow anchoring while leaving smaller entry marks. Particularly useful for precise hair placement, fine textures and refining a finished surface.
