Masham—sometimes referred to as Massam—is a British longwool breed resulting from crossing Wensleydale or Teeswater rams with Swaledale ewes, producing a fleece with both length and lustre. Masham fibre boasts a statement-staple length and a lustrous sheen, making it a standout choice for textured spinning, durable felting, and art yarns.

Features:
    Long-stapled, semi-lustre fleece—typically 150–380 mm in length
    30–33 micron
Ideal for strong, textured yarns, robust wet or needle felting, and decorative fibre design

Masham’s blend of impressive staple length, lustre, and resilience makes it perfect for statement projects like bold art yarns, dramatic felt sculptures, and durable rugs. Its natural beauty and tactile strength add character and depth to any fibre work.

Lovely wool.

This is my favourite as it's easy to spin.
