Sonata

The Sonata is a full sized wheel which packs away as a small package, making it perfect for traveling with.

Minstrel

The Minstrel is setting a new standard for castle style wheels. It features a wide, steady base for the double treadle and wheel, which is larger than many uprights at 18". The wheel is easy to mount on the two support posts - the third post will mount an optional distaff.

Larger than the Mazurka, the Minstrel has stronger, bolder lines and a larger base to accomodate the larger wheel. It is a double drive wheel, but comes standard with Scoth tension set-up if you prefer the single drive feel. A threading hook and extra whorl are conveniantly stored up front for easy access.

The Minstrel is made of European alder and birch.

Prelude

The Prelude has the lok of an antique wheel, with the high degree of wood turning which the Kromskis are famous for. However, it also has all the little touches that the modern spinner expects.

The Prelude is a single drive Scotch tension wheel. The drive band is self adjusting plastic for ease of use.

The Prelude is easy to treadle , easy to transport and has an 18" diameter wheel (the same size as the Minstrel) for excellent ratios. If you like you can spin the mother-of-all in line with the bench for a more compact package when moving the wheel. This shown in the close up of the stained wheel

The Prelude is made of European alder and birch.

This is the first single drive Scotch tension wheel produced by the Kromskis. It takes the standard bobbins of all the wheel range.

Mazurka

The Mazurka has the classic  European look . The design of a wheel within a wheel gives weight to the wheel to make treadling easier and is a an un-usual design feature.

The Mazurka is made of European alder and birch, featuring both double drive and scotch tension spinning.

Fresh out of the box the woodwork is very light. We recommend that prior to assembly the woodwork is given an oil finish.

The wheel comes boxed as a kit with some assembly required. This is not a huge job and should take less than 1 hour.

Polonaise

The Polonaise features functional wood threaded wheel angle adjustments so the proper angle can be obtained with the flyer.  Many wheels appear to have this feature but it often does not work and is only decorative. The Polonaise is fully functional.

“Pin and socket” bearings support the wheel, offering low friction and exceptional ease of treadling.  All of the wheel hardware sits between the wheel posts and the footman passes through the bench to the treadle.

The Polonaise is made with European alder and birch and comes standard with double drive and scotch tensioning.

Symphony

The Symphony is just the image you would expect a spinning wheel to take.

This wheel has the detail spinners have come to expect from Kromki products - lots of finely turned wood, attention to detail and all the features spinners have asked for. Start with a good size wheel diameter, 60 cm (24") which rotates on bearing sleeves, giving effotless treadling. The double treadles are well engineered to be comfortable through long spinning sessions. The flyer is double drive but also has Scotch tensioning for single drive users

The double treadle system gives greater comfort when spinning for a long time, also provides more control over the wheel. If so desired the wheel will still operate using one treadle.

The Symphony is made of European alder and birch.
